Child accounts are "Child Accounts" because they are under the age of majority in the country you live in. It goes off the birthday listed on the Microsoft account when the tag is created. If the child is under the age of majority you cannot just turn
it into an adult account.

Changing the age under your profile data cannot change your xbox account from child to adult. If you have registered an account under 18+ of age in xbox live service that is a child account

If you want to create 10 different account in a more quicker manner, I'd recommend you to do so by creating a family group and then creating child accounts under a main (adult) account. But if you don't want to go that way, you can easily create accounts on a PC, and then simply sign in on each Xbox with those new Microsoft Accounts. You'll be able to complete the Xbox Live profile directly through the consoles.

If yours is a child account, you can't change privacy settings. Child accounts are considered all accounts under the age of 16 for the US & EU, 19 for South Korea. If there isn't an adult account associated with the child account, the adult will have to make a Microsoft account & associate the already created child account with it. Only parent accounts can change settings.

You can check the date of birth on your profile here: https://account.microsoft.com/profile/

Then, clear your browser history (how to do) and login to https://account.xbox.com/settings using your Microsoft account.

I am also having the same problem. My daughter has had an offline profile for a year and we decided to make it a live account. We chose "Join Xbox Live" from her account on the Xbox, but since she is under 18 I had to follow the steps to create a child
account for her on the computer and went through the verification of an adult account and it created a new gamertag for her. From the Xbox, I logged into her offline account, chose "Join Xbox live"...and got an error that the email address was already associated
with an Xbox Live account. How do I turn her offline account into an under 18 live account so she doesn’t lose her game progress?
