How do I connect my Xbox to my college dorm router

    Hello,

I live in a dorm and can’t seem to connect my Xbox to this router thing that is in my room via ethernet . The brand of the router is CISCO and it has four different things I can plug my ethernet chord into but none of them seem to connect.

    Please help!

    Thank you!

    :)

How do I connect my Xbox to my college dorm router

Hi Josh I, my name is Daniel. I am an independent advisor who is willing to help you.

For me, it is an honor to write to you and try to help you in any way possible, for my part I will do my best to try to solve any questions/problems you are presenting.

It is possible that the bedroom has some restriction and therefore the Xbox is not accepting the connection via Ethernet cable. Have you tried connecting it to all the LAN ports? Have you by any chance tried to connect via Wi-Fi?

Let me know this information so I can find what is causing this failure.

    Best regards,
    Daniel.

    Hi Daniel,

I fixed the problem. I had the wireless MAC address in instead of the wired. Thank you for your help though. I appreciate it!

How do I connect my Xbox to my college dorm router

    Hi again Josh,

As mentioned in the message above, it is advisable to contact school tech-support, since if it supports Wi-Fi but does not accept the Ethernet Cable, it could not be a problem with the console but with the router.

Let me know if they can help with this problem, I will be attentive.

    Best regards,
    Daniel.
