How do I connect a registered Xbox to an account (my son)?

Have now redeemed the code on the uk xbox site but the profile on there isn't the same one as my son's so how do i connect this gold pass to his account?

Firstly I can confirm that it is a Microsoft Account. The issue is that the account was created using my ex-husband's Microsoft account, which I can not access.

I can not legally login into his account and so I want to move all of my son's game profiles off my ex-husband's account to merge onto a new profile. The only way to do this is to be able to access the existing account, which I don't have access to.

Since my son plays the Xbox and not my ex-husband, my ex-husband left the Xbox with his son when we separated.

How can I verify that the game accounts on the Xbox belong to my son when they are registered on my husband's Microsoft account. I can't provide order history as I can't access the account to provide it.

There's no such thing as like a sub account. Your options would either be to let your son play on your account or create an account for your son as a child account (which will restrict how the account can be used)

should i just register the live account in his name then and cancel it from my name? i have registered him with an email address i just thought you could operate a family account? its going to get expensive when my 2 other kids also want xbox live accounts?

Nope - just a one off to have a race with my son!! Who wipes the floor with me all the time. Will clock up them 5 races then. How do I do that though with no profile as such??

Sorry - meant to say that my son is using my profile on the xbox one until hopefully xbox sort out a COPPA issue with his account ( for some reason it I appears to be US region (were uk) even though he is part of my family and I am most definitely uk as had
my ms account since I worked at MS and now a registered partner

I was able to retrieve my sons account with the email address it was registered on.
