How do I change which Xbox live server I am being connected to?

Yeah some worked and some didn't. there is another thread about those that didn't so ill try those methods and see if the server changes.
Sadly the server is still the same one. 180+ ping.

I'll check with the ISP if those other methods don't work.

It seems that couple of commands went through.

I'm not sure why the other commands shows an odd result.

By the way, is the server still the same after running the commands?

I would also recommend for you to check this concern with your ISP and check if they can see something not usual on their end.

Thanks for the timely response.

All the time & date settings were set correctly.

I created a local test account, made sure no VPN was running then reset the network. I opend the CMD in as admininstrator every time.

I followed all steps once without restarting at every promt and once with restarting at every promt.
Both times the results were the same and sadly nothing changed. Accoring to the Xbox Networking section I'm still connected to a server with 180+ Ping. Interesting enough, if I look at the same information in the Xbox Console Companion app, it shows I "have" 71 ping. Actually pinging the connected server over the CMD with "ping -t xeas.xboxlive.com" however shows the 180+ ping.

There were some interesting responses from the CMD commands:

1) On command "netsh int ip reset":
...
Resetting , OK!

Resetting , OK!

Resetting , OK!

Resetting , OK!

Resetting , failed.

Access is denied.
Resetting , OK!

Resetting , OK!
...

2) On command "ipconfig /release"
...
No operation can be performed on Ethernet 2 while it has its media disconnected.
...



3) On command "ipconfig /renew":
...
No operation can be performed on NordLynx while it has its media disconnected.

No operation can be performed on Ethernet 2 while it has its media disconnected.
...

I don't know if that is supposed to be this way but I assume not.

So far, from the details you provided, you can try the following steps and let us know the result. You can just skip those you have done already.



Set your time and date

• Start/Settings/Time & Language/Date & Time
  
• Set Time Automatically should be On.
  
• Set Time Zone Automatically should be Off.
  
• The Time Zone dropdown box should be set to your region.
  
• Set Adjust Daylight Saving time automatically to On.
  

Try creating a test profile and see if the issue will still persist.

Create a local user or administrator account in Windows - Microsoft Support

Make sure no VPN is running.

Reset network settings

1. Go to Settings.
   
2. Select Network and Internet.
   
3. Scroll down to Advanced Network Settings.
   
4. Then select Network Reset.
   
5. Click the Reset Now button.
   
6. Click Yes to confirm your choice.
   
7. After doing that, launch the command prompt with administrator rights.
   
8. Type the following commands one by one, and then press Enter after each command:
   
   [table][tr]

   netsh int tcp set global autotuninglevel=disable

   [/tr][tr][td]

   netsh int ip reset

   [/td][/tr][tr][td]

   netsh advfirewall reset

   [/td][/tr][tr][td]

   netsh winsock reset

   ipconfig /flushdns
