How do I change to an Adult account?

I created this account back around 2016, when I was not legally recognized as an adult. Now, 2 years have passed since I legally became an adult, but I still have child restrictions on my account that do not let me change settings like the time. As someone who moves across time zones frequently, it is a huge pain to have to sign into a different account every time I want to change a setting.

I want to promote my Xbox account to that of an Adult.

Yes I have already changed to Adult in the personalization settings, no I still cannot change the time.

My guardian and I have tried to promote me via family settings, no it did not work.

To switch to an adult account on Xbox, you must first be at least 18 years old. If you are 18 years old or older, you can follow these steps:

Sign in to your Xbox account on a computer or in the Xbox app.

Click your profile photo and select "Account Information."

Scroll down to the "Personal Information" section and click on "Date of Birth."

Enter your current date of birth and click "Save."

You will receive a confirmation email. Click the link in the email to complete the update process.

Once the update process is complete, you will be able to access all features of the adult account.

If you've tried changing your date of birth in your personalization settings and you still have child restrictions, you may need to contact Xbox Support.

They can help you complete the update process.

Child accounts can only be promoted to adult accounts when the age reported at the time of account creation reaches the age of legal adulthood in that region. i.e. if the date of birth indicated he's 12 now, he won't be able to promote that account to adult
until he turns 18 in the US. There's no way to speed this up, bypass it, or change the info to make it happen sooner. If you want to use an adult account, you might be better off creating a new one from scratch.
