    My Xbox one used to connect to wifi but I moved to a different place and I sent my router back and now I need the IP address to change the network security protocol and I don’t have my router anymore how do I set up my Xbox one it can’t connect to my phones internet using mobile hotspot

    I'm trying to connect a network to my xbox but it's not letting me and this is the message that keeps popping up, "This console supports WPA/WPA2 (personal), WPA2 (personal), and WEP network security protocols,
    but your router is using something else. You'll need to change your router configuration." So I want to know how can I change my router's security protocol so I can connect to the wifi?

    You dont setting up things is o. The host device whenever it's a router or a phone

    Using a phone as a hotspot will cause issues with connection

    You setup a new connection and then enter your login details there under nwtwork settings

    Hotspots.are.meant for.quick connections not.for broadband gaming use

    It will.be really expensive and laggy

    Hi Sophia!

    The network protocol or wireless security can only be changed through your network devices such as routers. It's not an option from the console.

    May I exactly know the error message you're getting when you try to connect it through your mobile data hotspot?

    You may try to go to your network settings and change everything there to default if you've manually set it up when you were connected to a router.

    Press the Xbox button to open the guide.
    Select Profile & system > Settings > General > Network settings > Advanced settings.
