how do i change my xbox settings it no working even if i used my microsoft acccount it does...

Same issue here, there is a working Microsoft family account my son uses on a daily base.

Trying to change the privay and online setting for that account via the xbox-live portal is not possible.

reason: the child acccount gamer tag doesn't show up

any further "how-to" advice is meaningless as there is no account entry to chose from

You can adjust the privacy settings for your Microsoft account on https://account.microsoft.com/privacy. If you want to change the settings for a service such as Xbox Live there will be a link to it on the same site when you scroll down for a bit.

If you have a child account you might need an adult to add you to a family group and ask them to change your privacy settings.

You can also try to correct your info on https://account.microsoft.com/profile when you are not a child and you set a wrong birth date when you created your Microsoft account.

Firstly, are you on a child account? (Microsoft automatically assign any account with the age set to below 21 years as a child account). If you're on a child account, you'll need a parent (adult) account in order to change your privacy settings.

It's how the licenses work. You can only share content with other acccounts without being signed in on your Home console. You would need to set the new console as your Home.
