How do I change my Xbox one email to match my microsoft account email?

I understand what you are telling me, according to information obtained on the community forum (Microsoft) Xbox Ambassador France J mentions that you can definitely change the alias/main email of your Xbox profile by following the steps below:

1. Sign in to your Hotmail email via https://account.microsoft.com.
2. Go to Your Information at the top of the page.
3. Select Manage how you sign in to Microsoft.
4. Select Add Email. You can create a new Outlook.com email address or add an address you already have. Then select Add alias. After returning to the previous screen, select Verify and then follow the instructions provided.

Once this is done, make sure to select the new email address as the primary alias because deleting the old email, which is your Hotmail, will delete the entire Microsoft account, including the Xbox profile.

Select a new primary before deleting the old one. To do this, select one of the other aliases that are on the account and then select Make Primary.

To change the email address on an Xbox profile, you will have to change the email address on the Microsoft account (which is associated with the Xbox profile).

I had to do the same thing about my email address a while ago. The steps on how to do this are outlined at "How to change the
email address associated with your Microsoft account". I recommend doing this first and making sure everything works before making any changes to your gamer tag.

No, the email address I want to use is the new one. I've already recovered my old account (this one) which is the one I want to keep, just attached to the new email address. I've created a new microsoft account and xbox account for the email I want to
use, but when I try to 'Change Microsoft Account' on my xbox it says the email doesn't have an xbox account. But I can use that email to log into the website and can use it on my xbox by downloading that profile.

so... email 1 is used for the "" account, and email 2 is newly set up with "Temporary Placeholder style name" account. I try to Change Microsoft account from email 1 to email 2, but it says there is no account on email 2.

The email on this account is only active temporarily and I am trying to change it to the new email so I do not loose my purchases.

In the top right corner of my Xbox it shows an old email I don't want on there and yes I changed the billing and Microsoft email but I can seem to get rid of that old one appearing but when I sign in to my Microsoft account it's still the old email so that
might be the problem anyone know how to change the sign in email for Microsoft accounts?
