How Do I Change My Settings To Play Online?

I've been trying to access minecraft servers for the past few hours and I just came across the solution of having whoever the parental owner of my account is. The last time I checked this email should've been on its own separate account, not only a family plan, but I could be wrong. I'm trying to access the settings turn on online play without talking to said parental owner but I'm not finding anywhere else. On top of that my own account doesn't allow me turn it on. I'd be at ease if I could talk this through with someone or, get a list of directions on that help me figure out who this parent is or how to do it myself.

Unfortunately, child accounts cannot change their Xbox profile privacy settings. Doesn't matter if they are on a family group or not.

If you need to change your privacy settings, you will need to ask a parent to create a family group, invite you to the group as a member and change your privacy settings for you (if you are not on a family group).

You can check if you are on a family group by going to https://family.microsoft.com and see if it shows only your account or other accounts too.

But are you sure you cannot play online because or your privacy settings? Would you please share a screenshot of the message you receive when trying to play online?

Press the Xbox button on your controller to open the guide, then go to System > Settings > Account.
Under Privacy & online safety , select Xbox Live privacy . Choose a default, or customize your settings by selecting View details & customize .
