How do I change my primary email from an old, expired one to my current email?

I have tried going through the forums, I have tried talking to a virtual assistant and I have tried calling the customer support. The primary email that is attached to my current Xbox/Microsoft account is one from high school that expired back in 2015. I cannot access this email for verification codes to make any sort of major account changes. I can’t even redeem twitch rewards because of this. I was told by a customer service rep that the “only” way to fix this is to make a new account and use the Xbox home feature to transfer games over. Their only solutions was to basically give up my 14 years of account data and progress, and start over because they can’t help me change an email. EVEN THOUGH I HAVE ANY ACCOUNT INFO THEY COULD NEED. Please help, this can’t be my only option.

No. I am able to sign into my Xbox live account using the log in info. But the email itself has expired/been deleted a long time ago so I can’t log into the email itself. So when I want to access/change my account info and it asks me to log into my email and find the verification code, I am unable to do so. Again, I know all the info for the old expired email, I just can’t log into for the verification codes because it’s expired

If I understood correctly you're able to sign in with that account but when you try to change your alias you're not able to do it because the system ask to verify your identity?

If that's the case, are you not able to select something like "I can't use that email / phone or similar"?

Unfortunately nothing else can be done.

You cannot transfer data from one account to another. You can change the primary email associated with the accounts though. Which may be helpful depending on what you're trying to do.

I want my xbox live account i have (with its email address) not linked to the current profile... but instead link it to the profile that i have my new achievements on.

But you can't change the primary email, i've tried many times on my old acct that uses the old @xboxlivefamily.com. so am not sure how they could've changed my email without it also notifying me as well.
