How do I change my Outlook email linked to my child's Epic Games account?

This is one for the books and for those familiar with Epic Games accounts.

A long time ago, I deleted my Outlook account without realizing that it was linked to my child's Epic Games account. It is now past the recover stage. I did so because I had more than one Outlook account and chose this one at the toss of a coin.

Now, my son received V-Bucks for his birthday.

When I go to Epic Games. I am able to log on using the Outlook account. I try to change the email preferences on his account, but Epic Games insists on validating the account and says I need to get a verification code from the now deleted Outlook email, despite asking for a a "new" email.

I attempted to create a support ticket with Epic Games, with a new Outlook account, but Epic Games insists on sending me a notification to my old Outlook account, which it then lets me know it cannot do.

My first thought is the only way to remedy the situation is to delete my con's Epic Games account and create a new one. Though doing this will delete any skins he has already acquired.

Is there anyone who can offer another solution?

I am unable to get any advice from Epic Games as their community and support team has been unresponsive. Also, Microsoft support has been unresponsive.

If your son doesn't have the epic account setup already then create the account and then link the new gamertag to it and then try linking his fortnite.

is it possible to go to the epic games website and create an epic games account, login with that account on the site and then go into that account and then link that to one of the xbox accounts thats a child account? does the child account not have their
own email address and password? if not then the only way i can think of is to change it so their accounts have their own email address and password so that it can be linked to an epic games account.

How do i disconnect my epic games account without the epic games account? i recently went to link my xbox to epic and it said already linked to an account i have no clue what the account email or passwords is I do not know the display name

You can not change email address if it is linked to a Microsoft email account, @hotmail, @live, @outlook as doing so will delete the email account and all other Microsoft services linked to it.
