how do i change my gamer tag or delete my account to create a new one?

Hi.

So the gamer tag associated with my email (the adult) is there to stay or can I delete that gamer tag and create my own? Then I could create a new profile for son #1 and a new gamer tag.

I have figured out/created a new profile and gamer tag for son #2.

So I would like to:

change the gamer tag that is connected to my email account (the adult).

If possible I would like to keep my son's gamer tag and just move it to the email account/profile I created for him... (I'm pretty sure you said I couldn't do this but just checking?

Ok because it's barely a new account and I need this gamer tag.

If I deleted my account and created a new one, will I be able to take this gamer tag ?

I changed the email on my gamer tag by signing in to microsoft live account, creating a new alias and assigning it as the primary account, then deleting the old alias.

You can change your gamertag using an Xbox console or the gamertag change website

If you instead prefer deleting your whole Microsoft account (keep in mind that this deletes all your purchases and game licenses) you can use this article

Please note that is not possible to delete only your Xbox profile from your Microsoft account

There is no way to permanently delete an account from the servers. You would just have to create a new account.

The system creates a random gamertag for you when you create a new account. You can follow the instrcuctions from here on how to change the gamertag on GFW -
