    How do I change my child’s name and email in the family account?


    I need to change my son’s name and email address. When I go to Your Family -> Manage my child’s profile info -> select child, I am not able to update the name or email address. Where can this be done?

    Hi KMcClennen,

    1. Using the parent's Microsoft account, sign in to your Family page on the Microsoft account website.
    2. Select Manage my child's profile info.
    3. For the child’s account that you want to change, select Edit this child's personal info and then follow the instructions.

    The primary email address can only be changed by the owner of the account. You can't make any changes like that through the family settings. You need to have the user update these via their profile settings.

    Thank you is it possible to change the email address associated with the account? For example- the account is with my email address. Could i change it to my childs email address? Then create another account with my email address and add his account
    to the family?

    changing child's microsoft account name

    The @xboxlivefamily.com is the Microsoft Account assigned to an account when created through the Family Plan. It is not a real email so if you change the Microsoft Account name it will require an actual email at that time.

    @xboxlivefamily.com is only a temporary Microsoft Account. You can create your child an email of their own using the outlook.com email and change it to that but at this time that is the only option.
