    how do i change the age of my account because i have an issue that i need to resolve that has this step in it.

    If you need to know i am older than a "child" now.

    The parent/guardian who setup parental controls will need to sign to adjust any parental settings.

    They can do so at https://family.microsoft.com

    How can I change the birthdate from child to adult?
    Unfortunately you can not change the birthday from a child to an adult, it must age into one. My best bet would try to recover the account waitedgoblin3 if possible, i know you don't know what account it is but you can at least try to do so.

    You are trying to change an adult account to a child account? While the age of the account is determined by the DOB on said account, we can change the privacy settings for this account to have child-like privileges.
    To do this, just navigate to Settings>Privacy & online safety>and make the appropriate changes their.

    Is your account a child account or an adult account?

    Look over this
    article     that explains how to update your online and privacy settings on the Xbox console or from Xbox.com.

    Just be aware child accounts need permission to change any settings from a verified adult account.
