How do I change email when the email account already has an Xbox Gamertag?

So I have an Xbox Gamertag, but I want to move this to a different Microsoft account. However the destination Microsoft account has created itself a gamertag of it's own. How do I move from account 1 to account 2 when both have gamertags associated?

I've been trying to change my email address on my xbox account for sometime now. when I go to change it with my email account it keeps saying that my email address is already being used. how do I fix that?

I've had a live account for years now but when I set it up I used my gmail email. I also have an local free profile for my wife that I set it up using my Live.com email account. My wife's account doesn't have a Live gold pass so it's just a free local account. Recently I signed up for a xbox Live Music pass about a month ago and I've been enjoying it so far (gmail account)....so to the Issue.
I just got a new Windows phone. All sync'd up and working with my live email account. My music pass though is not showing up for my Live account so I can't sync up my playlist and such. There is also no option to "log in" to your music pass as it uses the account the phone is already setup with which is my Live account.

So how do I switch my music pass to be associated to my Live account? I've been trying for hours to just delete my Wife's free profile account so I can remove my Live email association but I can't figure out how. I do know that I'll have to change my XboxLive account name which is cool with me. But when I try to switch my account over it says My email that I want to use is already in used by a Xbox profile (Yeah, my wifes').

There is no way to merge or transfer accounts.

If it's only the name you are looking to use for the 2nd account you would need to pay to change the GT on the first account to free up the name. Then you will need to pay for the change on the second account.

The same process would need to be done if it's the email address. You have to change the address on the 1st account to free the address. Then you can use it on the 2nd account. The difference being that email changes don't require payments.

Hi Lion,

In order to change out the primary email for a gamertag to another one, the gamertag has to be removed. If there is a gamertag attached to the email, then it will only allow the new email to be connected to the gamertag as a secondary email instead of a
primary email.

Basically, it is going to be like musical chairs. Move each of the gamertags to another email to free the email. Create an account that will not be used on a daily basis. Move the gamertag from the email that is going to be used. Then it will free up the
email to use with the main gamertag.

That doesn’t work. It says this email already has an account. When I sign into my Xbox account with that email it comes up with another gamertag that isn’t mine that I’ve never used

Hi, when you sign into the xbox change the email on the gamertag that comes up then hopefully when you recover your account again using the same email the second gamertag should show up.

You have 02 ways to make this change,
01º) You can change the current Gamertag linked to your personal email by another, thus releasing that gamertag to your child.
