    How do I change a child account to an adult account to be able to apply a custom gamerpic


    I have done all that I can to change my account to an adult account but it still won’t let me apply a custom gamerpic as it says I have a child account, but when I go onto the family section it says that it is an adult account. How can this be sorted?

    Change the gamerpic of a child account

    If you're wanting to use a custom gamerpic, he would need an adult account. There is currently no way to use a custom gamerpic on child accounts.

    Otherwise, you can change his gamertag to one of the ones Xbox makes available.

    hey I'm trying to change my gamerpic with a custom image using xbox beta with my android phone. But it says I'm too young to change it. my account is a child account and it is impossible. I can't figure out how to change my age with my account or with an

    Hi there,

    I had a similar issue issues years ago.

    If your account is at the age of majority (18 in the U.S. for example), if you remove yourself from the family, are you able to change your gamer pic?

    The date of birth on your Xbox account is permanent. Changing it on account.microsoft.com will not change it on your xbox account. When the date of birth on the account reaches the age of 18 you will be able to change your gamerpic.

    Why can’t I have a custom gamer pic?

    It's like having restrictions for child accounts in regard to purchasing stuff online. It requires a parent's guidance or approval. Even in changing your account's privacy options, that requires a parent account to do it. That's the same thing with custom gamerpic. A child or minor player may not be able to identify which one is appropriate or not appropriate. I hope you understand that.

    Rest assured that once your account graduated to adult, you'll be able to use customized gamerpic.
