    How do I associate an existing gamer tag with a different email address?


    My current email address is the one associated with my Microsoft account. When I signed into the Xbox app on my PC I guess it created a new gamer tag. When I went to change my display name to "" it says it's already taken. However, that is my
    original gamertag from when I had an Xbox 360 years ago and my main username wherever I play. Is there a way to associate that account with my current email address?

    How to delete/ detach my GamerTag from my email?

    I was trying to change my gamer tag to a different windows live ID. When I get to the point of putting the other email address it says that the email is already associated with a different gamertag, but I don't use that gamertag anymore. I do use the email
    though, how can I detach that old gamertag from that email to be able to associate it to my active gamertag?

    So, how many of you are 10 year Xbox Live gamers?

    I started with the xboxlive beta with the headset and MotoGP disk, but I currently have a new different gamer tag due to my associated Hotmail account going inactive, due to not logging into email, and thus preventing me from renewing the live account. I had to create a new account while I went through the steps of recovery for the Hotmail address. Once recovered, I simply stayed with my new gamer tag... Now associated with the old Hotmail account. :-(

    take gamertag off my microsoft email account

    I'm having a different type of issue. The gamer tag that is associated with my email is wrong and I've never used it before. However,on my xbox, the correct gamer tag is there as well as the correct email address. How do I fix this?

    Accidentally created a second gamer tag on same email as first

    first of all you can not have 2 different gamer tags on one email address so there must be a different email address associated with the original gamer tag your best bet would be to contact xbox support at support.xbox.com/contact-us and give them your gamer
    tag and if they can verify your account they can give you the email address associated with your original gamer tag

    The only reason it would have brought up a different gamer tag is if you signed into a different email address.

    At this point if you do not remember the email address associated with your original gamertag you can contact xbox support by going to support.xbox.com/contact-us and requesting a call back or talking to a chat person give them your gamertag and if they
    can verify ownership of the account they can give you the email address that is associated with that gamer tag

    If you are seeing a different gamer tag that you normally use, first indication is that you are using the wrong email address that is associated with your gamer tag.

    Maybe I’m not explaining this right.

    I restarted my console this morning when I signed back in I didn’t read things correctly and used my email and password to sign in and then started with a new gamer tag with the same email as my old gamer tag.

    Now when I sign in it’s my new gamer tag that pops up. I tried deleting the new tag off my console and resigning in but again the new gamer tag pops up.

    There is no option to look for tags associated with the same email???

    All my purchased games and game pass is associated with my old gamer tag. How do I get my old gamer tag back with this email and onto my console???
    You had to have used a different email for the new account. Its simply not possible to have two accounts under the same exact email.

    If you tried it would say the account already exists
