How do I appeal a forced name change?

I have no enforcements related to the name change on my account. I believe it was done maliciously since I began to receive strange calls to my number, with one of the calls asking for me by my name and then saying they knew more than me. Xbox is at a serious risk of vulnerabilities if random people can disable and console ban anyone they wish. My gamertag was just “energy” it’s obviously not offensive. I am cybersecurity student and have sec+ cert. This was done by someone who wanted to steal my account and bypassed Xbox to do it.

That would be because you can not appeal a forced name change. Your name was deemed offensive, after somebody reported it. The system generated a new name for you. No way around it, no appeal, no way to receive a free name change as the system generated
one WAS your free name change.

you will have to post in the suspension thread but FYI there is NO appeal for forced name changes once a name is deemed inappropriate and gets changed you cannot get it back and if you try to change it to something else that is inappropriate too many forced
name changes results in perm ban of live.

Yep... it was a forced name change. And now Microsoft are charging me £7.99 to change it.

What an absolute scam.

My previous tag did not violate the rules in any way whatsoever. There isn't even an appeal option to get someone with some common sense to review the decision.

I genuinely can't believe how underhanded this is by Microsoft - a) allowing names to be chosen that, for whatever misguided or juvenile reason, they think violate CoC terms, then b) forcing it to be changed without appeal, and then c) forcing people to
pay money to change it to anything other than what they set it to.

I'd like someone to explain to me why it costs money to alter data already contained in an existing database that is modified remotely? Utterly ludicrous.
