How do I add entire genre to now playing in Xbox Music?

All I'm trying to do is add one genre to the now playing so I can use the shuffle feature. I can organize my collection by genre but if I use shuffle within my collection, it shuffles my entire collection and not just one genre. Please help; I'm tired of
listening to my music in the same order. It reminds me of the old days when music was on CDs.

P.S.: I could not find the correct area for Xbox Music on the Surface, but I'm Shure it is the same on Windows Phone.

how do i see my netflixs stuff on here, i have my xbox connected and im trying to figure out how to get to the add a console, add the genres etc

 

Playing multiple playlists XBOX Music - Console

I want to have multiple playlists in the now playing queue, how do I do this on the xbox console. I see a Play Now option but no Add to Now Playing like on Windows 8.

Go to Xbox Music, select Genre, click the play button next to the desired genre, press the ellipsis in bottom right ("...") and select "add to..." and on the next screen pick "new playlist." Although from the now playing screen you can already press Shuffle
(the two interwoven arrows) so that it randomises the order.

An alternative way to make the playlist is to click on the genre name and at the bottom press the Select button (next to Pin) and then tick all the ones you want, then press the ellipsis in the bottom right and again choose "add to..." followed by "new playlist."

Thanks for the reply; However, I do not have any of those options. Literally the only thing I can do is change from a list of all possible genres and a list of all the songs in my collection organized by genre. I don't even have an ellipsis to click on.
The only thing I can click on is "-" which brings me back to a list of all the genres. I can't even 'right click' to get other options.

 

I've just realised I misread the last part of your post, I thought this was Windows Phone and that the difference between our experiences was because I am running the WP8.1 Preview.

I will need to find a way to check this on Windows 8 (Surface) as apparently there seems to be a difference. Which version of Windows 8 are you running? Windows 8 Pro or RT? (ie, is it a Surface RT, Surface Pro, Surface 2 or Surface Pro 2?) Have you updated
to Windows 8.1 Update 1? If not, you can do this as a free update via the Windows Store.

If you have an available update, you should do that and check in Xbox Music again to see if this feature is enabled.

 

Sadly, that isn't currently a feature. I know it has been asked for, including by myself.
