How do I add a PC friend using their Gamertag from my Xbox One

Trying to play Cold War coop or zombies or anything with a friend.

He has a PC and I have an Xbox One.

He has my gamertag and I have his (including the #6969 numbers at the end).

We have tried, Activision, Battle Net, xbox, everything to try to find each other and no dice whatsoever. Closest I can get is to try to search for him on my console through 'friends' but there is a hard coded 'Xbox' filter on the search so I can't look for PC people.

Far beyond frustrated and looking for specific Yes or No and How if possible please.

The game allows users to play together on different platforms but you need to add the other player into the game using Activision ID.

Add friends on Xbox.com

From the Xbox.com page, select Sign in at the top right-hand side of the page.

Select your gamerpic, and from the dropdown, select Friends.

Type the gamertag in the Search gamertag box. Be sure to pay close attention to the gamertag's spelling and spacing.

Select Add friend to add the person’s gamertag to your friends list.

Note Your friends will see you as a follower and will be able to see the info you share with friends, based on your privacy settings.

Try to remove and add back your profile on your console, then see how it goes from there.

to add or remove a Microsoft account on Xbox One . I recommend you try first to power down the console and unplug it from its power source for at least 2 minutes then try it again. Let us know with a reply how it goes!
