    How do I access my old world from windows.old files in Minecraft?


    I see the name of the world in some of the files but i am not sure how to convert it into a .mcworld in minecraft as that is required. I recently downgraded from windows 11 22h2 to windows 10 21h2.

    There is no way to convert the files to a .mcworld, the only way to create a .mcworld is exporting the world inside Minecraft.

    One thing that you can do is: (but this doesn't guarantee that you're going to restore the worlds)

    If inside the windows.old folder you're able to access to the appdata/..../inside the Minecraft bedrock worlds folder > you should be able to see more folders with random letters and numbers name. (Those are the worlds)
    Try copying all those folders to the same path and open the game and verify

    1. Make a copy of the corrupted world folder & all files & folders inside, and rename it however you please. ...
    2. Start Minecraft and create a new world, then save and close Minecraft. ...
    3. Go back to Application Data\. ...
    4. Cut the files (but not the folders) from the new saved world folder.

    you cant access the files on the one S, you cant even transfer the world from xbox to pc, you will have to create a brand new world and host this from your server, i had to do the same so i now run a minecraft server for my kids that is always there when
    they want to use it, remember to create daily backups of the servers files.

    No, I did not. All I had to do was download a new copy from Minecraft.net. I could sign in with my Microsoft account, but the record of my purchase was still there. I downloaded a new copy and installed it fresh, without any old copies of Minecraft in the applications folder or in the Library/Application Support folders. I did keep a copy of the "saved" folder from the old setup because that's where my existing worlds are. I can go back into the new installation and drop those old world files in the new "saved" folder in the new files that were created in the new installation.

    Microsoft store crashes (fixed) on launch after using wsreset.exe i cleared data and cache on microsoft store and nothing works. and i get error 0x80070424 when downloading games. (FIXED COMPLETELY)

    If you use the custom installation tutorial provided above, you don't need to backup files. Due to all of them are going to be inside Windows.old folder

    You have another options to reset your PC via Windows Settings > System > Recovery.

    But I think would be better use the custom installation (depending on the system damage, the reset PC option inside Windows settings can work or not)
