How do I access Microsoft points to pay for a gold membership???

I have a friend that has had a account on my 360 console for a long time now and today decided he was going to go and buy a gold membership. However the old hotmail account he use he no longer has access to and therefore cannot use his Microsoft points
to buy a gold membership they are requiring pay pal or a crdeit card???? he does not have either but he does have $15.00 on his account.

Paying for free stuff?

I don't see how it's a perk for Gold users. It would be a perk if it were included in the cost of a Gold sub. On PS3, there's no charge and PSN is free. If PSN is free and you don't need PSN+ to access Netflix, why doesn't Microsoft allow us access to it
without a Gold subscription? If I pay for Netflix and I paid for the Xbox, why do I need to pay to use things that I pay for on things I paid for?

Gold can only be purchased via credit card/Paypal or by purchasing a prepaid card in a store. It is not possible to use the currency in your account to purchase a subscription.

You can use your Xbox from home or any wireless hotspot, Before say Netflix was added to the dashboard, I paid for my Gold Membership I also paid for my Netflix account. As I see it all Microsoft did was give me as a Gold Member an additional way to access
my Netflix service that i was paying for anyway prior to them putting a app on the dashboard. You see my point? My appologies if I came off as defending MS That was really not what my post was about. I just think that everyone knows that Gold Membership is
something that you pay for which offers benifits such as accessing Netflix from your dashboard. If you don't want to pay for a Gold Membership stream Netflix to a PC or Laptop. I don't know maybe i'm looking at it wrong.

I am assuming the 14 days of gold is a free trial as microsoft do not sell 14 day gold memberships.. Free trials do not give you access to all the gold features. This is meant to be used to test the xbox live features. If you want access to gold exclusive
demos and access apps that require gold membership you will need to purchase a proper gold membership.

You shouldn't have to pay to access third party apps but that is the how Microsoft likes to do things lock everything behind a paywall. It won't change anytime soon either unfortunately so I suggest you watch luvfilm on another device if you don't want to
cough up for gold membership.

Yeah... the free internet apps are free to access, if you pay the fee for an Xbox Live Gold membership, which is nothing more than access tax by Microsoft levied against it's customer base.
