How did I get console banned

According to what you described, your console and account have been banned. I am very sorry for your experience. This is undoubtedly frustrating. Generally speaking, if you have any questions about the ban on your account, you can visit How to submit a case review | Xbox Support and submit an appeal. Regarding your device ban, we regret to inform you that a device ban will permanently prevent your Xbox console or device from accessing the Xbox network. You can only use the console offline: Using your Xbox console offline | Xbox Support.

Thank you for posting on Xbox Forums. In regards to this issue, have you checked the
Enforcement Website to see if there is an enforcement action on your account? If not, I would recommend checking the website for any enforcement actions on your account. I would also
suggest checking your
Network connection to see if maybe the console is having an issue connecting to your network.

If your console is banned, a message would show on your console when you connect to Xbox live, that the console is banned. If you are not getting that, then you probably have a connection issue with your Xbox or your internet. Try turning off your internet,
and your Xbox, and turn them on again, hopefully you will now be able to connect.

Unfortunately no one in the forums can respond to enforcement actions on accounts and the Enforcement Team does not use the forums.

To get more info you will have to go through the case review process at
enforcement.xbox.com if the suspension is longer than 24 hours.

Remember investigations take time so the suspension could have been for something that happened weeks or months ago.

Also note that naming and shaming in the forums is not permitted.

I told the same thing to customer service and Paolo F... ensured me that the forums were for the people who could not get a case review.

As your suspension last 48 hours, is not possible to undo or appeal to it, because the enforcement team takes up to 72 hours to review your ticket

Please note that no one here including Microsoft customer support is capable to assist you with suspensions or enforcement actions.
