    How come numbers can't come first in a gamertag? (Not prefixes/suffixes)


    Is there a reason numbers can't come first in a gamertag? I don't like the x's in my name and I was wondering if there will be a feature in the future where you can add number's in the beginning of your gamertag.

    Hi Chaz,

    It probably has something to do with the naming convention that changed peoples names that werent allowed to having a number suffix.

    Hello,

    I'm sure at some point the possibility to put numbers at the start of gamertag will be made a thing. Currently though, if you don't like your gamertag as it is, it would be best to change it to something you like or that represents you. Thanks.

    Gamertag is taken even though everywhere says its not

    Sorry you are having a issue, but maybe try to pick a unique gamertag unless you are part of a clan group etc and all have the same name but a different suffix or prefix to distinguish members
