    How come my Xbox Series X keeps encountering party chat errors and can not play online...


    Recently my Xbox Series X has been having issues whenever I try to join or start a party with friends. Error code 0x89231806 will pop up and I have done literally everything I can to fix it. I put my IP, DNS, and Alternate Port Selection settings on automatic and I have reset my Alternate Mac address several times with no fix. My NAT type will also change from OPEN to UNAVAILABLE frequently. Whenever I test the NAT type my Xbox is either stuck on a loading screen or says that the "information is unavailable".

    This is also affecting my games as well. Games like Rainbow Six Siege, The Finals, Fortnite, etc. will either not load me into a match or will flash a message saying that the servers are down.

    I have been playing at my college and never encountered this issue. I bring this up because I have seen forums and videos instructing people to reset their routers, but because I am on school wifi I am unable to do so.

    So how can I fix it? Is this a bug that I need to wait around for Microsoft to fix? Am I missing a step?

    Hey thepuff273,

    Gold is still required for party chat via the Xbox App. What specific errors or issues are you encountering with party chat? Or is it simply that no one can hear you and you can't hear them?

    Series x Party Chat Error [0X801901AD]

    Hello folk's

    I'm having issues with party chat on my series x.

    All was working fine until around 4 weeks ago and now whenever I'm in a party chat (either my party or friends) I get a message, either "party encountered an error" or "something went wrong with your party try again later" [0x801901AD]

    My nat is open, friends nat type is open, broadband was upgraded today to full fibre, issue still there.

    Strangely I tried my xbox one and had no issues, it seems to only affect my series x.

    I've tried clearing mac addresses, hard re sets on console, left unplugged for a day whilst at work, but no joy.

    I'm beginning to think it's either an issue with the series x, or possibly the last update it had.

    I can't find any reference to error code (if that's what it is) 0x801901AD.

    Any assistance would be greatly appreciated as I need this resolved.
