How come it says I’ve used up all 5 of my Xbox home switches when I haven’t used any

Just to set your expectation that even a customer support cannot offer additional home Xbox switches because it’s being managed by the system only. Possible that you’ve been using it already last year. The one-year period is based on your first home Xbox switch - so it’s not necessarily to be reset on the actual new year.

In addition, you won’t need home Xbox setting if you owned the games under your account. The home Xbox feature is used to share games or subscription to your console if you don’t have it on your account.

To confirm, do you own all your games under your account? To validate that, check your order history if all your games are there https://account.microsoft.com/billing/orders/

But the issue is i haven’t used all 5 of my switches yet and I’ve only got 2 left but when i go to make it my phone Xbox it doesn’t allow me

I am literally having the same exact problem. Word for word what Nick said. I’m currently without internet so I tried to switch my Xbox to “home Xbox” by using a personal hotspot. It said 0/5 changes left then I disconnected from the hotspot and reconnected. It then said I have 5/5 changes, but when I tried to make this Xbox my home one it said “can’t save changes”. It now shows I have 0/5 changes again even though I’ve haven’t changed this year. What is going on? I just want to play my game offline.

once your eldest sets your youngest's Xbox as his Home there is no need for him to switch his Home Xbox as his subscriptions and games are linked to his account and he can play them on any Xbox without it being his Home console.

when he tries to set his younger brother's Xbox as his Home it will give an error saying all 5 switches have been used, there should be a Help button/option show up. if he clicks that he may be able to get another Home switch.

I would try to find out why the Home Xbox stops working on your youngest's Xbox.

We do. When my son says Xbox go home, it switches to him and see his home screen. Using his start screen, we run a game ... And what comes up is the game running from when I was playing. For him to play a game using his profile, we have to turn Xbox off
then back on to reset it. Are you saying there is a difference between switching profiles using Kinect and switching using the controller?
