Seriously, gaming is my favorite thing in life. I've been gaming a lot since I was disgnose with depression. I started gaming more as an actual ''prescription'' from my general physician. She thinks that If I do more of what I enjoy in life I would be
much more happy. But then It bringed up this question: How can I make a full time income with video gaming? I tought of many things but I was hoping to get your suggestions.

    :)

Making it a "job" would probably add to your frustration and depression. Keep it as a game to help you deal with your depression.

There are a couple of options, some of them require career building from the ground up, some of the are bets, and some of them require a good bit of school.

Starting from the least secure methods to what I consider the most would be something like this:

Streamer / Content Creator: If you find a platform you like, like Mixer, YouTube, Twitch, Twitter, Facebook ect. And start streaming games or making videos, build a following, and become partnered. This is very risky as there is no guarentee that the audience
will come, and sucess or no, it can be a very demanding job and puts you directly in contact with your customers, who can be less than nice at times. It's very hard to become a successful personality and does require some equipment and learning.

Further on, there are entry level positions at companies you can find that don't require large amounts of schooling to get started like Game Testing, community management, or Art/Animation.

Above that I would say are technical skills like coding or project management which will require school, certifications, training, etc.

Now, none of these jobs are all game playing all the time, there is a lot behind the scenes that happens from editing, documenting, reporting, coding, etc, but puts you in that industry which is usally prone to playing and testing the games you're creating.

One resource I see a lot around is the
    GamesIndustry.biz
website which does have a job board where you can see available jobs across the industry broken down by specality. You can also take a look if there are any game companies in your area and check out their direct job board and carrer openings.

Take a look at what you want to do more specifically than just play games, and see if there is an avenue you can follow to do that.

I hope this helps. Let me know if you have any questions. Please note that I do not work in the games industry, but have thought about it, but any opportunity that has come up has not worked out with my personal life since I now have a kids and a wife.

Just a head up and warning since game testing is mentioned so often:

There is no better way to ruin your passion for gaming than to apply for a game testing job.

First of all, as a game tester you don't decide which game you are supposed to test. You will probably end up testing a mobile casual game like "Barbies Pink Hair Saloon" for several months.

And even if you get to test a game that you like, you will be given an incomplete version of the game. Large amounts of environment are missing, and you will be tasked to ram a car against several walls to make sure they didn't miss a clipping plane, that
allows the car to leave the intended play area.

So you're not actually playing the game. You are supposed to break the game. You have to do EVERYTHING a normal gamer would not usually do in a game to win it legitimately. You will have to find the stuff that makes the game crash burn and
die so it prevents you from progressing. Then you document what caused to brake the game and report that to the designers and programmers to have it fixed.

Then you repeat it again, to make sure the issue was fixed.

When you are testing a game, you are not playing the game. You do completely idiotic and boring stuff while having an Excel sheet open next to you to document what you did to break it.

There are multiple ways to earn money gaming. You can stream your gameplay on YouTube or Twitch (you do need to be 18 for this as you must have an Adsense account linked to your YouTube channel in order for your videos to be monitised.) You could also
look into attending a college or uni and study graphic design, media or anything associated with developing video games and once you complete your courses and graduate you could go on to become a games developer. You could also apply to be a games tester,
I'm fairly sure you need to be 18 for this too.
