How can I view disc version of Minecraft worlds

Unfortunately, the only way to transfer your world from console to PC would require a realm subscription. As long as you're using the same bedrock version on console and PC.

The Minecraft: Xbox One Edition has been discontinued, and the only way to get it now would be with a disc (unless you owned it digitally previously).

According to Mojang, it's not possible to directly transfer worlds from Minecraft: Xbox 360 Edition to the newest version. You need to transfer them first to the Xbox One Edition and then transfer from the Xbox One Edition to the latest edition of Minecraft.

If you don't have the Xbox One Edition (older version), you sadly cannot bring your old worlds to the newest edition. However, you may be able to find a disc version of the Xbox One Edition for purchase. If you previously owned the digital version of the
Xbox One Edition, you should be able to re-download it by selecting "View in Microsoft Store" by navigating to the Game Hub through your Achievements menu.

When you have both versions, you can do the two-step world transfer described on Mojang's page.

You can inform you friend to check for any updates for the game through the Microsoft Store App to make sure Minecraft is up to date. There is a way to

change game versions on Windows 10. You can have your friend utilize the article that we provided. Keep in mind, the article does mention backing up your world before you do this process. The reason for this is because if you try to play on one of your
current worlds, and you access that world using an older version of the game where certain features had not yet been added, you may irrevocably damage your world. There is a section of the article that explains how to back up the world. Your friend can view
a list of versions and choose the one that you are set to. Be sure to let us know the results!

Together with Mojang support I found out the problem why I do not manage to import my saved worlds on my Xbox One X in the online purchased version of Minecraft.

The Minecraft Xbox One version that you can buy online in the Microsoft store is a different version than the Minecraft Xbox One version you buy in the store (DVD). The online version is the so-called Minecraft (bedrock code base on xbox one) version.

To import the saved worlds, you first need to export the worlds on the Xbox 360 Minecraft version, import them into the Minecraft Xbox One Edtion import and then import old worlds into the Minecraft bedrock codebase version. (Minecraft Xbox 360 -> Minecraft
Xbox One Edtion -> Minecraft Xbox bedrock codebase).

You end up with a version that you do not use, but you can then sell it via e-bay to fellow gamers who have the same problem.

So it is possible and fortunately not as Microsoft indicated earlier that the worlds would be lost.

Hey steven, sorry you're missing your Minecraft world! I understand how concerning that must be.

What version of Minecraft are you playing (i.e. Java, Bedrock)?

It's possible that your PC installed some updates that might have changed the directory to the Minecraft world saves.

Press Win+R and in the Run window type %tmp%, an Explorer window will open. Look in that folder for a folder named minecraft.
