How can I use my steering wheel and Xbox 360 controller interchangeably?

I have a steering wheel connected to my Xbox 360 via usb cable. I’m using the steering wheel to play gta5 and it only picks up either the steering wheel or the Xbox 360 controller one at a time. I’d need to use both of them at the same time as the wheel does not have a joystick, making it harder than needed to move the characters around. I would like it so that I can use the wheel and the controller interchangeably. The only way I can switch from steering wheel to controller and vice versa is to switch off the console entirely and start it up with either the wheel or the controller as it does not recognise both of them at the same time. How can I get this to work please?

i'm sorry but player profiles are bound to controllers, you can only use one of the time. You can turn off or unplug one and then plug the other one in

if you want multiple simultaneous input devices PC is your only option

Would I be able to connect a xbox 360 wired steering wheel to the adaptive controller and use it on the xbox one?

I know my Logitech G920 isn't the most straight forward thing to connect to Xbox.

Just make sure that there are no controllers or other input devices connected to the console when you connect the steering wheel and turn it on. I know for me if my controller is on when I connect my steering wheel, the steering wheel isn't registered by
the console.

The other thing is to make sure all the cords for the steering wheel are plugged in correctly.

I believe the Xbox 360 Wireless Racing Wheel should work on the PC if you have the Xbox 360 Wireless Receiver. That dongle enables you to use Xbox 360 controllers wirelessly on the PC. I'd imagine it's the same technology in the Racing Wheel. It worked on
Windows 7, so hopefully it should work with Windows 10.
