    How can I upgrade from Deluxe to Premium Deluxe in MSFS 2020?


    Hi

    I am unable to upgrade from Deluxe to Premium Deluxe in MSFS having originally, in error, upgraded from Standard to Deluxe when I intended to get the Premium Deluxe version. On realising my error, I did contact the Microsoft Store but got a cursory’no’ to my request to pay the extra and purchase the correct version.

    So, trying to upgrade I have tried through the store (which says upgrades are not available) and in game in Marketplace which keeps producing an error message when I try to purchase.

    Please note I understand how to purchase in the Marketplace in MSFS, but it will not allow the upgrade. You press the upgrade message then it sends a message saying not possible. Likewise in Microsoft Store, pressing the upgrade button ends in (not possible) response.

    All very frustrating, is there anything I can do to upgrade (and pay more!).

    I am logged in to my Steam Account and MSFS 2020 automatically logs me into my Xbox account.

    This same thing is happening here. Originally purchased on Steam, I upgraded from Deluxe to Premium through Xbox not realizing it would not show on Steam. Now I have a Premium on my Xbox only and a Deluxe on Steam. Both tied to Xbox account but in different
    realms!

    I agree that charging loyal customers extra for an upgrade after they purchased is pretty garbage of Microsoft.

    I've been flying MS flight sim since VERSION 2.0. Two Point Oh!

    I bought the deluxe when first purchasing msfs, only to find out that instead of charging 30 (119 minus 89) dollars for the difference between the deluxe and premium deluxe, in the marketplace they charge 89 for the premium deluxe upgrade, regardless of what upgrade one has already purchased. So if I want premium deluxe now, ill spend a total of 178 instead of 119. Kind of sham tactics.

    I can and will simply wait until MS decides to change this sham before I purchase any more MS products. Thanks.

    In these cases it is not possible to upgrade in the way you mention, the proper way would be to refund the version you purchased and buy the correct version

    Through the marketplace of the game there's an option as you mentioned, from there should be possible to do it, are you playing on Xbox or Pc? Let's see if we can solve that

    Yes I did, on realising I had purchased Deluxe rather than Premium Deluxe, I contacted MS to ask for a refund, citing my reason. It took a while for a response, which was a curt “no”.

    I’ve had MSFS since version 5, so am a loyal customer. And, I want to give more money to MS!

    Sadly I just can’t get a simple upgrade.. I just don’t understand why not.

    Thanks for your interest in my situation though.
