How can I unlink an unused Xbox account from my Microsoft account?!

I owned an Xbox 360 several years ago and I'm just now finding out that it's somehow still linked to my Microsoft account?

It's merging my Minecraft account to my Xbox account after I migrated, but I want it to use my main account and NOT my Xbox/gamertag.

I DO NOT want to delete my Microsoft account. I ONLY want to delete the Xbox account and unlink it from my Microsoft account!

I can't find anything to help me with this... I don;t have the console anymore, and the settings on all three sites are NOT helping me figure this out

Hi there Mellocide welcome to the community forum! Christopher here, an Xbox fan just like you and has been on Xbox for years already. I would really love to make your day by helping you out. Unfortunately email accounts with Microsoft domains (Hotmail, Outlook, Live, etc) can't be unlinked from Xbox profiles.

Easiest is unlinking your wrong Skype account from your Microsoft account from your computer's browser. Follow the instructions here:

support.skype.com/.../how-do-i-unlink-my-skype-and-microsoft-or-facebook-accounts

After unlinking you can start the linking process again and pick the right Skype account this time around:

support.skype.com/.../how-do-i-merge-my-skype-and-microsoft-accounts

It sounds like there's some kind of confusion between Skype accounts and Microsoft accounts. Sign in to Skype on the web with to unlink your accounts, and then you can re-launch Skype on Xbox One to link the Skype account you want to the Microsoft account
that you use on your Xbox.
