    How can I turn my child account into an adult account?


    My microsoft account is apart of a family, where this account is a child account and another account is the parent. I am now 19 and am trying to buy a game off the microsoft store but it says I need to ask permission before buying. The catch is that the parent account linked to my account no longer exists. So I am unable to buy games off the microsoft store and also unable reach the parent account to fix the problem. Is there a way for me to get taken out of the family account, or atleast be able to buy games???

    I am so sorry you are having issues with restrictions on your account.

    Since you have turned 19, you should now have the power to leave the group.

    You can go here: [https://account.microsoft.com/family/home]

    Click the 3 dots on your account and then click 'Leave Family Group'.

    Parental control settings

    I can't remember 100% but I am sure whoever set up the child account can change it. Like if you made an adult account on the xbox before making the child account that adult account can change wether the child account is a child account or and adult one.
    I will just test this out myself now and post how it went

    You can't exactly change a child account to an adult account until the child has actually turned 18. However, you can change their permissions. You need to log into the adult account, and under family settings, you can change the permissions of your child's
    account.
