How can I stop the Chatbox from popping open on Valheim?

With regards to your issue, have you tried to change the settings of the controller in-game? This might be an in-game settings issue. Possible that the game is detecting both your controller and keyboard.

I suggest to open the game and go to settings and controls. If you have option there to manage the buttons, try to unassign all the inputs under Keyboard & Mouse that correspond with the controller then try the game again.

I will give it a try as soon as the chatbox is open.

We have our own chatbox where you can post anything from grouping up, trading, or chatting about the game or anything!

that did it....eventually it stopped. How can I keep it from Signing me in every time I open? There's nothing in the Settings.

What is happening is that your pop-up blocker/firewall is blocking the pop up chat windows from opening, what you will need to do here is disable your pop-up blocker to allow these windows to open. Usually if this is the case on the URL bar on the right
it will come up saying "pop-up blocked" when you try to open it, just click this and it should give you an option to stop the pop up blocker working on that page. Hope this helps
