    I am planning on moving out soon, and my mother wishes my Xbox account to be removed from her Microsoft account.

    Is that possible without losing all of my data on Xbox (achievements, purchases, etc.), while letting her keep all of her data for Microsoft (Windows 10, Dropbox, etc.)? Basically, I'd be replacing her Microsoft account with another, but she will still have
    access to hers and her data.

    Would it be possible to transfer my mom's Microsoft stuff to another account?

    That way I can keep the current microsoft account and she can have all of her microsoft stuff elsewhere?

    Unfortunately there is not anyway to do what you are wanting to do.

    I'm trying to sign out of a Microsoft account and use a new one for my xbox account. However, I don't know where to start and I've heard that you really can't due to them being linked.

    What can I do?
    Your XBOX profile is actually part of your Microsoft account and I am afraid there is no way to separate them, in the same way you could would not be able to separate a Gmail account from the Google account it is associated with.

    There is no way to change which XBOX profile is associated with a Microsoft account, I am afraid. Your only option is to create a new XBOX profile using a different email address, and that will have its own associated Microsoft account (or create a new Microsoft account using a new email address and then create a new XBOX profile using the same email address).

    If you ensure that both the original and the new XBOX profiles are on your XBOX and that both are signed in at the same time whenever you use it, you will be able to play as your new XBOX profile whilst still having access to all the games purchased on your old profile.
