How can i send a message from my phone to someone on Xbox live?

It was was a fairly easy process before, but since the update I can't seem to figure out how to do it. I play World of Tanks console which recently had cross play added to it. I play on Ps4 and the only way I can message people on Xbox is via the app on
my phone. I'd like to be to do that again if possible.

Using the Xbox app you can chat/send messages to an Xbox gamertag.

You can send it via the Xbox app. Type in his gamertag, and then click send message. Also, I recommend keeping personal info of that kind off the forums.

Why would they release an update that was missing a key feature like that? That makes very little sense in my opinion. From what I've seen there is nothing but negative feedback from the gaming community about the new update. I hope Microsoft fixes this
ASAP.

To send a message from mobile, you’ll need the Xbox App, which is available on the Google Play Store and Apple Store. Find the person you wish to message and tap the “Send message” button on their profile, then send a message.
