How can I restore external hard drive space formatted by Xbox 360S

Some time ago I used an unsupported 500GB External USB drive that I reformatted to FAT32. I attached it to the Xbox 360 to allow it to reformat some of the space. I have since then purchased a 320GB drive for the xbox 360S and now would like to restore that
space if possible on the External drive. I don't expect official support so I ask the community if they know of a way. I have access to the rest of the drive (roughly 465GB) but would like to restore it completely so that I can reformat it to NTFS.

All help and tips appreciated

Is there a way to use an External hard drive for both Xbox One and Pc?

Kinda figured that out. My xbox is not recognizing my hard drive anymore. I formatted it to my computer and then restored it back to factory settings. I would like to format it back to my xbox one. But it doesn't give me the option when I plug it in to my xbox

Want and Need bigger HDD...bigger than 320

Hey, as far as I'm aware 320 GB is the largest HDD currently in production, however you can purchase an external hard drive and connect it via USB which can be formatted and used for space. External hard drives are available with more than 1 TB of space,
which should be more than sufficient. Hope this helps.

Please disregard post. I misunderstood the way that the xbox 360 utilizes space on the external hard drives. I made the mistake of believing I should have a full 500GB on the drive when I know better. 500GB really mean 465GB

Hey mate, if you go to the storage device the same way you would the normal HDD on the console and hit the Y button when over it, it should bring up some options for the storage device where you can reformat it.

Also you should be able to plug it into your computer and then go to 'My Computer' Right click on the storage device in the menu and click format. It should now be formatted for your PC.

See how you go.

that was because it was limited to fat32 file system.

You can either purchase the MS branded hard drive to install in your XBox or use Xbox-formatted USB devices (The Xbox will format them for you). These are limited to 32 GB and will ignore any space above that amount, and external hard drives are not supported
at all.
