How can I report theft attempt when all I have is an IP address of the person who did it?

Hello community, I have ran across a rather huge problem as the report feature does not include a section to report Players who directly get caught under suspicious activity on your account, such as a failed log in attempt from another country that very clearly logs the Browser used, the exact Time and date they attempted to log in as me, and even tells me the IP address and gives me an exact Geographic image or the location. In my case London.. I live in the United States of America. Clearly it wasn't me. I was able to go through procedures of locking down and changing passwords ect to secure my account.. yet the owner behind the IP address sits idly by awaiting another attempt without any course of action taken against them because Microsoft does not provide any support regarding reporting an IP address attempting to sign in as you. All they provide is a phone number to contact the FTC and report it to them, yet calling them and trying to report it properly is practically impossible as well, as the options to report an Theft attempt regarding an online user account that just so happens to have access to games and apps as well as accounts for Hulu, Netflix ect.. just isn't an option.. Where's the security and justice to report these kinds of offenses? They have the users IP address and can easily link it to the gamertag linked to the IP address using it, but they only report Gamertags and will not report an IP address as it apparently is too much work? (Just a guess) I don't know their reasoning, but I do know that www.IC3.com as well as the FBI will demand via an I-25 release of information and Federal request to provide all details associated with the IP address that tried stealing my account.. However; here's the problem... You guys won't file a case number meaning I have nothing to provide them with to upon the investigation legally. HUGE PROBLEM...

    :)

Hello, My name is Jesse. I'm an Independent Advisor and a member of the Microsoft community and I'd love to assist you today.

I'm afraid there's no way to report an IP address as the only report feature available on Xbox can be seen here https://support.xbox.com/en-US/help/family-onli...).

Hopefully a way to report an IP address is brought up soon. I'm sorry about this

Just because an IP address is listed doesn't mean it's correct or even near...if someone is using a VPN to connect, then they may be in India (just picked as an example, not saying Indians are thieves or anything) rather than the UK...the IP address listed may very well be a legitimate IP address used by, say, a bank or something. No surprise they won't report an IP address without knowing if it's the actuial IP address of the would-be-thief...Gamertag is different as it is linked to an account

i keep getting host booted illegally.

Yes, contacting your ISP is the best way of stopping this person in a sense of preventing them from doing it ever again as they can trace the IP that was attacking you, often I have found with players on xbox live doing this are only amatures who don't hide
their IP address when doing this. If you know your way around your router, you can find the IP address in the router's log and can black list the IP, but contacting your ISP and reporting the attack is the best action to take. You can indeded report the user
however they do now have your IP address so being on xbox live or not makes no difference to them in a sense of attacking you or not

If i report them for cheating how would they get any info out of the situation besides an accusation?
Mojang will be able to look at the server logs to see who did what and when.

everything is logged with the time and date as well as the ip address of the player that did it.

Someone kicked me off my own internet over Xbox LIVE for a few minutes?

If you know the gamertag of the person who did it then use the dashboard reporting tools to report them. Go to their bio and select File Complaint then follow the instructions provided. Then Avoid and Block the person so they cannot contact you again.

As for the attack, if your internet service provider had not issued you a new IP address when you called them the first time please call them again and request one.
