How can I remove a payment method off my Microsoft account?

You wouldn't be able to remove the payment method due to their being a pending transaction associated with that payment method. If you wish to remove this payment method you'd need to contact Microsoft Store support first and cancel your preorder so the pending
transaction is released on the account.

If this payment method is also attached to your Xbox LIVE Gold subscription you'd need to turn off automatic renewal and wait for that subscription to end before you're able to take the card off of the account.

You have to go to the website on microsoft.com and login to your Xbox Live account. You have to go to the Payment section and remove your card. Sign in to the Microsoft account you want to update.

Microsoft account
Go to Payment & Billing and select Payment Options.

You can add or edit payment methods from here.

Under Payment Methods, you can Add a new Payment Method, View or Edit Card, or Remove Card.

2. If necessary, log in to the Microsoft account you want to change.
3. Select Payment and Billing and then Payment Methods.
