How can I recover a Minecraft gift card that is missing partical activation code?

If you’re unable to read all 25 characters of your digital code, you can try chatting with the Code Assist bot. Note: Take a picture of the front and back of the card, and have proof of purchase such as a picture of the receipt.

When you buy a gift card from a retailer, the card becomes activated once they scan the card's bar code. If you're getting an error message that the code is not activated, you may just need to wait a few hours, up to 24 hours sometimes. If you haven't done
so, I recommend also trying to redeem the code online as well as from the console. If the code hasn't been activated, return it to the place where it was purchased and ask for them to activate it so it can be redeemed. Make sure to take your proof of purchase
with you.

in a situation like this, it's best to wait 24hours and then try again. if that doesn't work the only option would be to take the card back to the retailer to have it activated. See this link for more information in regards to this issue:

Check for typos to make sure you entered all information accurately and as it appears on your gift card. Typos are the most common reason for code errors, and the following characters aren’t accepted: A, E, I, O, U, L, S, 0, 1, and 5.

Try again in an hour or two to rule out a temporary server outage.

If the card says that it's not activated, return it to the store that you purchased it from and ask their customer service to activate the card.
