How can I receive a refund for a subscription charge that I no longer with to keep?

You can request a refund by signing in to https://xbox.com/refunds.

If it's not showing from there when you sign in you can simply follow the steps below:

Click on "Why don't I see my purchase in the list?" > I don't see a purchase in my order history > Choose the issue.

Once you have submitted the refund request successfully it may take 24-72 hours to receive an update from the refund team.

You can request a call back or chat with support at http://support.xbox.com/contact-us. If you don't see those options, change the category/topic until you do. Billing & Subscriptions and "I don't recognize a charge" usually works. However, keep in mind phone/chat support no longer handle refunds. So you'll want to reply to the email you received denying the refund to contact the refund specialists.

Keep in mind that if you paid with a credit card/Paypal, you're not charged until within 10 days of the game's release so if you cancelled before you were charged, you would not get a refund since they hadn't charged you yet. If you were charged and submitted a refund request, refunds can take 3 to 5 business days to be received after it's been approved, but can take longer depending on the bank.

First, please check if there are any charges in your order history: https://account.microsoft.com/billing/orders/

If you can see the charge there, it may be eligible for a refund. If it's a game or add-on purchase, you can request a refund here: https://support.xbox.com/help/subscriptions-billing/buy-games-apps/refund-orders

Sign into your account's subscriptions page: https://account.microsoft.com/services

Find your subscription and select Manage.

Select Cancel subscription and follow the instructions. If you're eligible for a refund, you'll see an option to cancel immediately with a refund.

If there's nothing in your account's order history, the charge must be coming from a different account. Check with friends and family in case they signed up for a subscription using your card. If you can't find any trace of this charge, you will need to contact your bank to cancel the charge and report your card as compromised. Microsoft can only discuss these charges with the account holder.
