How can I link my new PS5 profile to my existing Microsoft profile

Once you launch the game on your PS5, you will be guided on the account linking process.

On the Minecraft: Bedrock Edition game home screen, click Sign in with a Microsoft account. 

Follow the instructions on the page to go to http://aka.ms/remoteconnect to enter the unique 8-digit code and complete your sign-in.

Hello PS61, thanks for reaching out for support here on the Xbox forum. Sorry you're dealing with this confusion with your gamer tag.

When you link a Microsoft account to Minecraft on PS5, it should connect to your existing Xbox profile and show your usual gamertag. If it gave you a different or new gamertag, it likely means a new Microsoft account was created or used during the sign-in process by mistake.

Double-check which Microsoft account you signed in with on the PS5. For that, you will need to check with PlayStation support.

I didn’t deactivate my email address, I removed the email from my Xbox profile. I didn’t have Skype or my phone # linked too the Xbox profile. When I sign into the Xbox profile with the email address that created that profile, it doesn’t pull my existing Xbox account content, it creates a new Xbox profile. Any ideas on what else I can do or try?

Correct but when I do that the app says I need to sign in to a certain account that was created and then deleted. I have a new adult account that the console is signed into, but the app wants to sign into the old profile. That is the only profile that the app asks for and won’t let me link to it. My console is signed into a new profile but app wants to link to old profile that doesn’t exist anymore
