I'm having the exact same problem, let me know if this worked out or if you found another solution. I have an RX 5700 XT, R7 3700X, and 32 GB of RAM myself and have been playing Sevtech Ages which is pretty resource heavy, so we are probably in the same boat and I've been searching for ages for help.

After checking out the minecraft forums, i quickly found multiple threads about the same issue, along with the solution that ended up working.

I also learned that doing a quick search on google isn't enough, and to search on forum sites as well.
