How can I get the mic on my headset to work

Check your NAT under settings. If it is strict or moderate it may prevent them from hearing you. You need your NAT to be open. Resetting the router can fix that.

Whenever this issue happens to my son, it's what we do and it fixes it.

If your headset did not work on another app, then this issue is most likely with the headset itself. It could be a hardware related problem so, you might want to reach out to your headset manufacturer and seek for further technical assistance.

Have you tried using the headset with another controller? Another thing to check is if it is fully plugged in by removing it and pushing it back in again. I would personally use another controller to test out to see if maybe it is not the controller.

the headset that I am using is wired, and it's a HyperX cloudstinger , I was using Xbox on a windows PC, but my headset wont work with apps like discord either.

May I also know what make and model your headset is?

Were you running Xbox on a Windows PC?

Have you also tested your headset microphone to another app and see if it worked?
