How can I get my controller to work?

The other day I was trying to use my xbox one s controller on my pc so I got a micro usb to plug it it and the controller had power but did not work so I went into my window settings > bluetooth and devices > devices and made sure the controller was recognized, it was but, still didnt work so i thought clicking "Remove Device" would work but now the controller doesnt pop up in any settings i try to fix it in. does anyone know what i can do?

my controller turns on and vibrates but the button just flashes and doesnt connect it used to connect before i removed it as a device

Then, on your computer start bar, search for "Services.msc" and open it.

Scroll down to the bottom of the list and right-click the "Xbox Accessory Management Service"

Select Properties > On this window, change the initialization/startup type to Automatic.

Click OK and restart your computer.

After that, install and open the Xbox Accessories App.

Connect your controller via a USB Cable and check for a firmware update.

Probably the disc drive is defective and need to be replaced

I don't like to give bad news, but as you say. It seems to be a problem with the disc drive.

I can suggest some things, just to cover everything from your side. They're optional, if the issue persist you may need to get your console inspected and repaired in the closest authorized retailer or where original parts are used

A. Power cycle the console
1. Turn off your console by pressing the Xbox button on the front of the console for about 10 seconds, until it shuts down completely.
2. Unplug the console's power cable from the console and from the power outlet. Wait 5 minutes.
Important: Be sure to wait at least 5 minutes. This step resets the power supply.
3. Plug the console power cable back in.
4. Press the Xbox button on your console to turn it on.

B. Do a factory reset but keeping games and apps
Open Settings > System > Console info > reset and then select keep my games and apps

C. Perform an offline update for your console.
In that way Xbox system will be installed from scratch.
