    Hey everyone, so I’m experiencing an issue in my Xbox Series S where every single time I turn on my console it’ll tell me that I need to connect to the Xbox network, sometimes it’ll connect by itself but most of the time I have to connect manually by entering my password to the internet again and again but it won’t work until I restart my router then it’ll connect to the Xbox, but to add on my Xbox is the only one experiencing this issue and not my phone or smart tv so I figured that it’s an issue only in Xbox so I don’t know what to do to make sure this doesn’t happen again. Any ideas on why this happening and how I can fix this?

    Hi there!

    We cannot be so sure if it's your Xbox that has the issue. There are some instances that it's an issue of your network device or router. It may work fine on other devices but some devices are configured differently and may behave incorrectly if your router has an issue.

    My suggestion here is to test the Wi-Fi connection of your console by using a different network like your mobile data hotspot. If the issue doesn't persist on your mobile hotspot, then then issue is on your your router. I recommend that you perform a factory reset on your router to reset its configuration before we perform a factory reset on your console.

    Be sure to try to power your console. Press and hold the Xbox power button for 10 sec until it turns off. Unplug the power supply for 30 sec. Plug it back in and turn it on again.

    Before you factory reset your router, try to power cycle it as well. Unplug your router from its power source and wait at least 5 minutes before turning it back on.

    Xbox Live has been a terrible experience for me on the xbox one. Every single time I turn my xbox off, I must go to network settings, disconnect my wifi and retype in my password in order to play online.

    Unfortunately none of these are viable or permanent solutions for me, which leads me to believe that it is a hardware issue, that I have to hard reset, reboot, disconnect and reconnect and power cycle my xbox every time I turn it on just to have a functional wifi.

    Every time I turn it on, I have to check detailed stats to see whether or not I have to try and fix it because I know for a fact that it is not my wifi as this is an isolated issue. Every other device (including my xbox when I fix it) manages to have amazing speeds and low latency. And every time I’ve run these tests, I am met with anything between 100-4000 ms of Latency. With considering the threshold for most multiplayer games to determine whether or not you disconnect is at about 800-900, it makes my xbox unplayable.
