    How can I fix my controller after updating the firmware


    I updated my Xbox elite core series 2 controller today and now it keeps disconnecting I updated my Xbox too and it keeps disconnecting I also reverted the update on my controller and it still keeps disconnecting so I updated it again and it's still doing it no my battery is full and has no issues and I've tried updating it again and yes I kept it still and didn't touch it I even plugged it into my Xbox one s and updated it and yes it's still having the issue and it disconnects while it's plugged in too and I've tried restarting my Xbox multiple times and it still keeps happening and no I didn't have the issue until I updated it today someone for the love of God please help me fix it I really can't afford to buy another controller for literally no reason and I also tried updating it on my PC with the app too and that still didn't fix it the firmware version is 5.21.3242.0 and my Xbox is updated to OS firmware version 10.0.25398.4909

    Yes, I did so with the same controller, through Bluetooth (no Wireless Adapter or cable) and played in offline mode, freeplay / training.

    You can also try uninstalling / reinstalling the game to see if that forces an update/fix in the game. If not, if you believe the controller may be an issue you can try reverting the firmware to see if that helps.     I have a similar problem. It started happening after the headset firmware update. My sound quality is good. My problem is it will randomly say that my controller died or disconnected on the screen but the controller will still be on. I have to take out the
    batteries to turn off the controller. The controller reconnects after I put the batteries back in and turn it back on. I change the batteries thinking that was the problem. But even with fresh new batteries it still does it. I see sharks & nobles posts and
    I hope it can all be fixed with the next firmware update. Hope its sooner then later.

    Xbox elite 2 not working

    Hey, I have this same issue with my Elite Series 2. Also, if I press the guide button it shuts the controller off and I am unable to turn it on without plugging it in again. This just started happening after I updated the firmware to the new version. The issue now persists after I rolled back to the old firmware version. The new firmware update seems to be breaking something in the controller. I hope a fix is found soon because my out of warranty controller is now effectively a $180 paper weight.

    I have this same issue and it IS a problem. I manually updated my firmware for each of my controllers BEFORE getting by XO Seven. Now whenever I plug in the headset it prompts me to update firmware (although the sound is already working). When I try and
    update it fails without giving an error, then my controller will no longer sync.

    This is incredibly annoying and I hope that MS either fix the console's firmware to stop asking me to update or release another firmware update for the controller which fixes the syncing issue.
