How can I create a Xbox gamertag?

I keep trying to create an xbox account so I can play minecraft. Over the past few days, I have attempted this numerous times on my computer and phone, using my current microsoft account and creating a brand new one, I have also tried clearing out my browser cache. It keeps sending me to the same page where I am supposed to choose my profile picture and gamertag. I have tried entering in numerous unique gamertags, as well as trying out a bunch of the auto-generated ones, but nothing works. every time i hit the "next" button or the "lets go" button, the button looks like it was pressed but nothing happens. I have tried all of the previous forum guides that try to fix this but all of them just send me to the same page that doesn't work. Is there an issue going on with xbox live right now, or is there some way that I can get around this? I wanted to contact xbox support directly but it will not allow me to do so when I don't have a gamertag. I have tried every single type of reload or different approach to this website and none of them work, so is there some other path I could take to choose a gamertag? If there is no backdoor into this, is there a way for me to get ahold of real time xbox support without having a gamertag?

There is probably an issue going on right now with gamertags since a few users just started complaining about it. I would suggest you to wait a few hours to see if the issue goes away.

Hey OranShingar! Can you explain a bit more what you mean? By "Character" name do you mean Gamertag? Can you list out how many different Gamertags you've created and WLID accounts you've created. For example:

Gamertag A is linked to WLID A

Gamertag B is linked to WLID A

etc.

Make sure not to list any actual Gamertags or WLIDs for personal safety!
