How can I connect my current offline profile to a Xbox Live profile?

I have tried multiple times to create a xbox live profile with my offline profile, but every time I get code 8015402b. (xbox live cannot verify my gmail) So I read that first I had to verify my gmail on the xbox website by loggin in. Now I have a xbox live
profile but I can not connect it to my offline profile because it says: this mail address is already used.

So how can I create a xbox live account for my offline profile? (I don't want to lose all my achievements and saves from my offline account)

How to delete a profile associated with an email account

I recently signed up for xbox live thru the website and tried to log in thru the console. I didn't realize that I cannot merge that account with my current offline profile. Now it won't let me sign up for xbox live to my offline profile because the email
address is already associated with another profile. How do I delete the profile associated with the email so I can add my original profile

How to turn a Xbox 360 offline profile to a gamertag. This will explain how to do it step by step. If you are on an Xbox one all you need to do is get Xbox live subscription.

The error code you get means this....

If you use a non-Microsoft email address such as an @gmail.com or @yahoo.com address, you'll need to verify that you have access to that email account before you can use Microsoft services.

To verify your account, sign in to your Microsoft account at any xbox.com page, such as this one, and follow the instructions to verify your email address. To learn more about how to verify your account, see "Call
us overprotective, but we need to verify that this email is yours" message when signing in to Xbox.com.

Hi there,

only one xbox live account can be connected to a specific Microsoft Account, so if you want to 'upgrade' an offline profile to a xbox live account you will need to use a Microsoft Account that doesn't have an xbox live account already connected.

So if you don't have an Microsoft Account without an Xbox live account connected you will need to create a new Microsoft Account if you want to 'upgrade' that offline profile.

There's no joining of an offline profile and a Live profile just because they have the same name. You can still join Xbox Live from your offline profile with a different gamertag, or you can pay 800 Points on your current Live profile to change it
to another name and make the desired name available when promoting your offline profile to Live.
