How can I confirm that I previously had Java Edition and get my old username back?

I want to log into my old username though. This logs me in as my Xbox Live Gamertag, not my migrated Mojang username which I've had since the the java edition was in beta. If I click the username in the top-left corner of the launcher to select my old username, it makes me sign in again and will not accept my Microsoft password so the problem doesn't end for me.

Can you be more specific? Do you mean your Gamertag or are you referring to your whole account?

Hello, I bought the game with a code back in 2020 I believe, and it had both java and bedrock edition and I still haven't recieved this cape, my username is InkRQ if that helps in some way, idk if it's still been given or not.
