How can i configure my X-box Elite 2 controller *without* an X-box live account?

You will need to be logged into an Xbox Live profile in order for you to configure this controller. This is done so that the controller can save configurations to your account, thus allowing you to transport this device to any other machine as long as you
are signed into your account.

You are required to sign into your account when connecting your controller on any other device, as the configuration is only saved on ones account. This is as per design with the Xbox accessories app.

In addition to this, a Microsoft account is an amalgamation of different services (Windows, Office, Outlook, Xbox, Bing, etc.) and in order to have a Microsoft account, you must first agree to the

Microsoft Services Agreement, in which there is a section that describes the
Microsoft Privacy Statement and the types of data we collect from you and your devices ("Data"), how we use your Data, and the legal bases we have to process your Data.

It doesn't help. That app is what prompts you to sign into x-box live when you try to configure the controller. The only thing i can do in that app without signing in, is look at the battery life. I cannot configure the buttons to make profiles or bind
the back paddles to anything as (im assuming) that is in the "Configure Controller" option, which prompts an Xbox live login. Closing that login, pushed you back to the main page.

Thanks for coming to the forums. On a windows 10 PC you get the accessories app. This will allow you to configure the controller.

As i said. Paying nearly $200 for a controller, should not require me to make/sign-in to an online account just to fully use that controller.

If you (Microsoft) are going to charge such a premium price for a device that you could get for less than $30, it should have a basic "premium" feature that all other input devices have that you can configure... Onboard memory.. so an online profile/login should
never been needed.

The fact that you are forcing it on people is asinine.

I know that you, a Forum moderator, we're not involved with that decision, but its something you can pass along that it was a stupid
[Mod Removed - See Guidelines] decision to whoever did sign off on it, and extremely anti-consumer. You would have thought that after the complete disaster that was the Xbox One reveal, in which your company announced it *had* to be always
online, and the huge backlash response that got, that it would have been a clue that people don't
[Mod Removed - Inappropriate] WANT to be forced to be online to use products that have never before required it.

I would strongly suggest to your company, to find a way to patch out that insane requirement, especially on such an expensive controller. Something that fetches such a high price, should have a Basic feature like that.
